New lift to Avoriaz under construction

I popped up to Prodain this morning to check out what was going on with the new Prodain lift from Morzine to Avoriaz.  A lot of our guests from our Morzine chalets use this lift to give direct access to Avoriaz, so its great news that it is being replaced for us here at Treeline Chalets.  The new lift which is being built by Poma is set to be open for December 2012 in time for the beginning of the winter season.  It will replace the 50 year old cable car which had two cabins carrying 65 people at a time, a total of 900 per hour.  The new lift will have 12 cabins carrying 2000 skiers and snowboarders per hour, a huge improvement and much faster access to Avoriaz for everyone.  Heres a few snaps I took of the progress.
