Meet the Treeline Team for winter 12/13

Treeline is growing every year and for winter 12/13 there will be a team of 11 of us making sure you have the best chalet holiday in Morzine. Dunc & Amy are running the show as ever, but this year Fi & Hannah will be helping manage the chalet & resort going-ons. Then there’s our 7 fab new chalet staff – we have triumphed this year with the most amazing team ever who have been in resort for the past week and training hard (as well as participating in a little powder slashing on Saturday’s early Avoriaz opening). We thought you might like to get to know them, so here’s a quick intro to them all…

MATT & AMY – Chalet Laurent

Where are you from?

Amy is from Guildford & Matt is from Chesterfield (the home of the crooked spire apparently).

Where have you skied/snowboarded before?

Andorra, Les Deux Alpes, Cervimin, Zell Am See & Kaprun, Sauze Doux, 3 Vallees, Soll.

Why Morzine?

We’ve heard so much great stuff about the Portes du Soliel Ski Area, so we wanted to see what all the fuss was about! now we’re really excited to be running the stunning Chalet Laurent in sunny Morzine.

What do you do off the slopes?

We spend our summers teaching windsurfing in Greece & Turkey & are hoping to go to further waters after this winter. We also dabble in dinghy sailing. Matt is also learning guitar , he’s also a masterchef (we’ve started calling him Matterchef this week!) in the kitchen with heaps of chef experience whilst Amy loves baking (she’s been baking up some real delights in training week – carrot & coconut yoghurt cake with creamcheese frosting YUM).

What are you most excited about this winter?

All the POWPOW – Saturday was the most epic start to the season!

NAOMI & JOE – Chalet Sante

Where are you from?

Naomi is from Oxfordshire & Joe is a Pomme-Ki (born in the UK but spent most of his life in South Island, New Zealand)

Where have you skied/snowboarded before?

Whistler-Blackcomb, Les Deux Alpes, Wanaka (NZ), Tignes, South Korea.

Why Morzine?

To come work for Treeline Chalets, snowboard in trees and eat cheese!

What do you do off the slopes?

Joe brews beer (he’s getting starting on a Morzine brew this week!) & Naomi is really into yoga and dance. We both climb, try to play the ukelele and love cooking up a storm in the kitchen (Joe is almost more excited about the cooking than the mountain!).

What are you most excited about this winter?

We can’t wait to explore the mountain & create a fun-filled, action-packed all round good time holiday!

JO & CHRIS – Chalet Plan des Pierrys

Where are you from?

Jo & Chris are from York (and are stoked on the proper Yorkshire Tea we have in all our chalets this winter).

Where have you skied/snowboarded before?

Wanaka, Morzine, Castleford & Halifax, Slovakia, Engleberg, Lake District, Scotland, Tignes, La Grave.

Why Morzine?

After holidaying here lots, we’ve been wanting to do a season in Morzine for ages as we love the town, the people and the varied terrain.

What do you do off the slopes?

Jo has taken some time out from her work in Community Arts & Chris from his landscaping business to come work for Treeline this winter. Jo loves to paint & all things arty and they both do a lot of surfing & running. (Chris has also become very partial to a bit of snow shovelling this week – he loves it!)

What are you most excited about this winter?

Meeting lots of lovely like-minded people & enjoying the stunning views from our “office”.

WENDY – Chalet 1080

Where are you from?

Dunsyre in Scotland (the Scots are taking over in Treeline!).

Where have you skied/snowboarded before?

Tignes, Les Deux Alpes, 3 Vallees.

Why Morzine?

I spent the summer here biking & loved it so much that I wanted to spend the winter here too!

What do you do off the slopes?

Longboard, biking & hiking.

What are you most excited about this winter?

Powder & parks – she’s pretty gnarr in the Stash already!
