Morzine is the ideal destination for your summer holiday, with an abundance of outdoor activities to choose from!
Well-known for it’s incredible mountain bike trails and road biking routes, we have compiled our top ten OTHER activities for families, children and adults alike to enjoy in Morzine.
- Hiking– there’s so many fabulous trails to explore, ranging from flat walks along the Dereches river trail and around Lac Montriond, to steep climbs to the top of Morzine’s peaks taking in stunning views of the surrounding areas. Your multipass allows access to the lift network so even children and those less inclined to walk up a vertical slope can enjoy the landscape.
- Pony riding– You can hire out a small pony for your children to ride in the Dereches park, just past the children’s playground, so they can enjoy an amble along by the river.
- Indiana Adventures low-ropes course– There are a few different courses for children (and adults) to access, so you can swing through the trees above the river! The courses are height dependent but children as young as 3 can have a tree-top adventure. For older children head to Nyon where there is a similar set up with more challenging courses.
- Swimming Pool– Morzine boasts an Olympic size outdoor swimming pool, complete with a shallower pool for children and a children’s play area, plus access to the normal indoor pool area. There is also a water slide, a volleyball court, a bouncy castle and loads of room to sunbathe both by the pool and on the grassy area. The fab poolside restaurant means you can really make a day of it! Entry is FREE with your multi pass.
- Canyoning and rafting– Frogs Rafting are a local company offering a wealth of water and land based activities on your holiday, perfect for rainier days as the river will be faster and if it’s wet anyway…!
- Restaurants– Morzine town has some fantastic restaurants, the perfect way to while away the afternoon over a long lunch! There are some great places for children and families. La Cendree close to the Pleney lift station has a children’s play area with trampolines, slides and more, right in the garden where you dine. La Rotunde has a beautiful outside seating area and welcomes big groups and children, with a large menu.
- Lake Montriond– Lake Montriond has so much to offer… You can hire out canoes and SUPs, enjoy a nice walk around the lake, and swim in the fresh mountain water. There are also now BBQs which you can use freely, don’t forget the meat and charcoal! Some lovely restaurants sit on the lake shore as well, so you can grab a bite to eat if you don’t fancy cooking for yourselves.
- Les Gets lake– The Lac des Ecoles in Les Gets is perfect for swimming and playing on the shore for children, and also has the fab WIBIT park, which is a huge inflatable obstacle course!
- Tennis courts and skate park– Morzine has a few well-maintained tennis courts, plus a tennis club selling drinks and refreshments. The Multi-pass allows FREE access to the courts! There is also a skate park next to the courts, with lots of features to play on.
- Summer Luge– Hurtle down the mountain on the summer luge (discounted with your Multi-Pass!) located at the bottom of the Pleney lift station. Those of the fainter-hearted can watch with a drink from Le Tremplin!
