CAVERN 24/7

So the annual CAVERN 24/7 Film Competition has begun in Morzine this week and we’re really happy to be sponsoring and supporting this years event as it’s going BIG!

Founded in 2007 by The Cavern Bar in Morzine this is the 6th year of the competition and screening event that has grown in popularity year after year. It is a chance for the community to come together to explore stories and show their sporty/creative skills and to just have a laugh with each other towards the end of the season.The challenge is open to teams to create a short film, 4 minutes or under in the Portes du Soleil area.  Each team must film & edit their video over the 7 days and each shot must have a Cavern vest (available from Cavern bar from Wednesday 6 March) in view so we know it was filmed within these 7 days. There’s CASH prizes as well as lots of other great goodies to be won. Then you (the public) will also be able to vote online after the event to pick – 1. Best trick, 2.Creativity, 3. Technical wizardry.

With this event getting bigger every year, this year the Film Festival Event will be held in the Palais du Sport in Morzine on Thursday 14th March 2013. It’s going to be a red carpet styled event (5€ entry fee) with cinema screening of video entries, live bands, food and bar –  a fab night out if your in Morzine next week! Not only will the night be super fun with video entries likely to be of a high calibre & always hilarious but all proceeds are going to 2 charities, equally split. It will be raising money for a new Skate park in Morzine (Concrete Community) & the Lavender Trust (Young women with breast Cancer).

So if you think you can create a short film & have fun with your friends this week, go and grab yourself a bib from Cavern bar. Then showcase your skills with some arty shots, amazing riding or an interesting storyline. All you need is a camera, a good idea & some good friends.
