Dom & Billy are heading to Sochi

Last week it was officially announced which members of Team GB had earned their quota spots through constant high performance and consistent high results and would be going to Sochi to represent the UK at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. We were stoked that good friends of Treeline and incredibly talented snowboarders, Billy Morgan & Dom Harington, had both achieved what was necessary and are now heading to Sochi.

Billy Morgan has high medal hopes in the debut Slopestyle event at the Winter Olympics. Having thrown down back to back triples in the X-Games practise runs last week (the first ever double triple – Cab Triple Underflip to Backside Triple 1440) he is looking stronger than ever despite an ACL & MCL knee injury only months ago. Having spent many seasons in Morzine prior to joining the GB Snowboard Freestyle Team, we know Billy well and can’t wait to see what he will have in store for us at the Olympics.

Qualification for the Slopestyle event will take place on Thursday 6th February from 6am with the Men’s semis live on British TV at 5.30am on Saturday 8th February and Slopestyle finals at 8.45am – make sure you are tuned in to watch Billy alongside fellow GB team-mate Jamie Nicholls. Dom Harington has been one of the UK’s top halfpipe riders for over a decade, professionally snowboarding since the age of 16. He’s been working hard, training relentlessly and recovering from injuries too so we were so stoked to hear it announced that he was selected to compete in the Halfpipe event in Sochi. We can’t wait to see what he has in store for us!

Watch Dom & fellow GB snowboarder Ben Kilner compete in the Mens Pipe event on Tuesday 11th February with qualification at 10am, semis at 3pm and finals at 5.30pm. (All times are UK local).
